Abrasion-Resistant Steel

Hardox steels. Leading solutions in wear resistance..

Hardox® steels are high-performance wear-resistant steel plates designed for the most demanding environments, where abrasion, impact and continuous use test the durability of materials. With a unique combination of high hardness, toughness and reliability, Hardox® steels extend the service life of your equipment, reduce maintenance downtime and improve the productivity of your operations.

Hardox® 400 – A versatile classic with a nominal hardness of around 400 HBW, ideal for moderate wear applications that also require good impact resistance and easy machining.

Hardox® 450 – Perfect balance between wear resistance and structural toughness, with approximately 50 HBW more than 400. Widely used in buckets, tippers and structures that must withstand both abrasion and constant impact.

Hardox® 500 y 550 – Hardox® 500 and 550 – For severe wear conditions, these grades significantly increase hardness (500–550 HBW) without compromising weldability, perfect for crusher liners, chutes, recycling hammers and heavy processing equipment.

Hardox® 600 – Designed for the most demanding challenges, with a hardness of around 600 HBW, it offers outstanding resistance to extreme wear while maintaining cutability and weldability.

Hardox® Extreme – The toughest solution in the range (up to 650–700 HBW), designed for applications where abrasion is extreme and part life is key to reducing costs.

In addition to these traditional grades, there are specialised variants such as Hardox® HiAce, ideal for corrosive or acidic environments, and HiTuf, with greater toughness for thick structural plates.

All Hardox® grades can be cut, welded and machined with standard workshop equipment, facilitating their integration into customised components without compromising their performance in the field.
