CUTTING AUTOMATION

Rugged, High Performance
Performance and accuracy are assured with a heavy steel beam, precision machined mating surfaces, and linear rail. This rugged design ensures smooth motion, accuracy and long term machine durability. With dual-side, high-speed AC drives and a fast torch lifter, SGX enables higher productivity through rapid cut-to-cut cycle times.

Precision Plasma Cutting
The SGX cutting machine equipped with ESAB’s m3 Plasma®* enables precision plasma cutting for a wide range of material types and thicknesses:

  • Mild steel up to 50 mm (2 in.)
  • Stainless steel up to 25 mm (1 in.)
  • Aluminum up to 38 mm (1.5 in.)

The m3 Plasma automatic gas control makes plasma setup quick and easy. The operator simply selects material type and thickness on the Vision® T5 CNC touch screen, and all plasma parameters are set automatically.

Multitrac
The A2 Multitrac with the A2/A6 process controller PEK is available for both the SAW and the GMAW method. If the SAW-version is chosen, the A2 Multitrac is capable of working equally well with either single or twin wire. The feed unit secures an even and stable wire-feed speed. Accurate travel speed is ensured by means of four-wheel drive. Exact presetting and control of the welding parameters is done on the instrument panel, which is equipped with a digital display. The Multitrac is fully mobile and can easily be moved from one welding station to another. It can also be quickly set-up for different workpieces.

WELDING AUTOMATION

LAF 635, 800, 1250 and 1600

The LAF series are three phase, fan-cooled DC welding power sources designed for high productivity mechanized submerged or high productivity MIG/MAG arc welding.

ESAB’S NEW SOLUTION FOR REPAIR OF EMBEDDED TRAMWAY RAILS:

Tramtrac II is ESAB’s latest welding equipment for the repair of embedded grooved city tramway rails. It utilises the FCAW process with self-shielded wire, instead of the conventional SAW process and this provides a number of advantages in terms of ease of use and cost-efficiency.
The FCAW process allows Tramtrac II to be small and with an ulta light-weight compared with the heavier SAW solution. It is easily stored and used from a truck together with a generator and welding power source. The tractor can be hand-carried and is easily installed and removed on and off the rail, allowing trams to pass within a controlled safety situation.

Welding embedded grooved rails in cities implies that preheating the rail cannot be performed. With rail grades ranging from 700 (R220) to 900A (R260) consumables for difficult to weld steel are recommended with a weld deposit that can accommodate high carbon without cracking. ESAB OK Tubrodur 15.65 and OK Tubrodur 14.71 are two wires that have been successfully used by tramway repair contractors for many years. Once the beads have been deposited there is need to grind to the final profile of the rail

Welding is the most common method of joining metals, widely applied in workshops for the manufacture of products. FRONIUS

Automation

Very often there is more to the welding processes than connecting two pieces of material. In many instances multiple welds are necessary, have to be coordinated, need to be brought into logical order.

Fronius offers a wide range of mechanised welding systems – from pre-developed standard components to complex system solutions specially matched to your applications.

CMT welding

This modern joining method satisfies increasingly stringent demands, some of the most important of which are process stability, reproducibility and cost-effectiveness. The bundling together of specific material properties opens up a number of interesting possibilities. Material compounds impart to a component or product the desirable properties of the constituent materials. Previously, such results could only be achieved by mechanical means or by bonding. Of much greater interest, however, is the ability to use heat to join materials with differing properties. The main focus in this respect is on the joining of steel and aluminium, as this will be of particular interest to the automotive sector, where it could spawn a whole range of previously undreamt of innovations.

Professional motorwelders

They are designed to satisfy the needs of the most demanding welding techniques. Can operate simultaneously either as a welder as generator three-phase and single-phase. Furthermore are suitable for a wide range of uses, including the metallic construction, construction, pipeline and shipyards. The welding current is continuous and can weld electrode (rutile, basic, cellulose) up to 8 mm diameter. The motor welding are soundproof.

DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IN THE SERVICE OF INDUSTRY

The acronym DSP, which is referred to this line of MOSA welders, stands for “Digital Signal Processor”, and identifies the fact that the regulation of the welding parameters is performed by means of a digital technique. More precisely, in the DSP controller reside the programs which perform the regulation of the different welding processes supported. The implementation of the control is accomplished by a power converter of the “Chopper” type (Chopper Technology), which operates at high frequency (20 kHz). The high frequency conversion allows to obtain superior welding performances in comparison with more conventional techniques at low frequency.

FEATURES

Via a rotary selector you can choose between 5 different welding programs.

  1. LIFT ARC TIG – This program performs a TIG welding with a “Lift Arc” start. With this feature the arc is started simply by touching the piece, without scratch.
  2. STICK (3 PROGRAMS) – They are specific for the electrode welding (CC), being characterized by three different arc force levels with increasing short circuit current from 1 to 3.
  3. MIG MAG – It is dedicated to WIRE welding, WITH GAS or FLUX CORED. This welding process is performed at constant voltage (CV).

PORTABLE WELDERS

The weight of the whole machine is only 34 kg. Driven by a Honda 4-stroke petrol engine, it uses an innovative permanent magnet alternator to supply a welding current of up to 150 A DC, and it can function simultaneously as a welder and generator.

The presence of an auto idle economizer introduces the concept of “poweron demand”, allowing both fuel savings and reduced engine wear. The New Magic Weld is able to weld any kind of electrode (rutile, basic, cellulose) up to 3.25 mm and takes full advantage of the engine’s power output thanks to a technology developed by MOSA known as “Power Optimizer”. Additionally, you can also use it as auxiliary power generator 230v or 110v up to 2 kW DC to power small tools or lighting. The New Magic Weld is compact and professional, proves indispensable as the most portable machine for carrying out welding repairs on site.
